No one is truly dead until forgotten

This post’s title, labeled in various places as proverb or source unknown, gradually became the focus of my research into genealogy and family history. While interviewing my older relatives, I realized that others who could have answered questions now left unanswered could have if they had just been asked many years ago. So much has been lost, so very much, to time and history and the silence of the grave. This blog is an attempt to preserve all that is now known or remembered or passed down before it can also down drop out of memory into time. I do this for me and my interest and for those who come after me. These are the stories I experienced, heard about, or have dug out of the records and documents available to me in 2009.
